Geneva-Cointrin Airport is the primary airport serving ski resorts in the French Alps. During the winter season some 50 airlines provide services to and from Geneva Cointrin and the airport is a major hub for easyJet and Swiss International Airlines. There are regular scheduled flights from many UK regional airports. The airport is located on the Swiss side of the French Swiss Border. Geneva Airport is around an hour from Annecy and 1 hour 40 minutes from Albertville. A new motorway is currently being constructed to link Geneva and Annecy and when it opens in April 2008 should cut around 15 minutes from transfer times.
Plagne 1800, a former mining village, is nestled in the trees and features many stand alone chalets. The village is self contained and has a choice of restaurants, a hire shops and a ski school.
