Geneva-Cointrin Airport is the primary airport serving ski resorts in the French Alps. During the winter season some 50 airlines provide services to and from Geneva Cointrin and the airport is a major hub for easyJet and Swiss International Airlines. There are regular scheduled flights from many UK regional airports. The airport is located on the Swiss side of the French Swiss Border. Geneva Airport is around an hour from Annecy and 1 hour 40 minutes from Albertville. A new motorway is currently being constructed to link Geneva and Annecy and when it opens in April 2008 should cut around 15 minutes from transfer times.
Montchavin sits at 1250 metres and is a small picturesque traditional savoyard village. There are a handful of restaurants and bars scattered around the village and even a nightclub, "Oxygene". Linked by ski lifts to all of La Plagne, a vast ski area is easily accessible and the Vanoise Express cable car is very close by.
